PROGRAMMING OPTIONS
Pull-out/Resource Room (Grades 2-5)
Students focus on building skills as indicated in the Ohio Academic Content Standards. Those skills that are emphasized include:
- Research and independent study skills
- Oral and Written communication skills
- Critical thinking Skills
- Creative thinking skills
- Computer skills
- LIterature study
- Affective development
Students meet one full day each week at Washington Elementary.

Transportation is provided from the student's home school.
Self-Contained Classrooms (Grades 1-5)
In addition to increased rigor in learning Ohio’s Academic Content Standards, the Self-Contained programming option also fosters competence in the following:
- Enrichment/Extension of Grade Level Curriculum
- Research Skills
- Oral/Written Communication Skills
- Critical/Productive Thinking Skills
- Affective Development
- Independent Study (Grades 3-5)
- Thematic Group Studies (Grades 1-2)
- Creative Development
- Organizational Skills
- Academic Games Participation
Students in grades 1-5 attend this every day program at Washington Elementary. Transportation is provided from the student's home school.
Gifted Intervention Support (GIS)
Students who qualify as Specific Academic Gifted in one subject area will receive support from our Gifted Intervention Specialist who will meet with students one time per week in their home school. Students will work on units that focus on problem solving, creative thinking, and critical thinking.
