Represent and interpret data.
  1. Amblegraph This online tools lets you create simple bar charts in your web browser. Children can use it for very quick surveys or a teacher can use it to model the construction of a bar graph with a class or group. Most elements are editable.
  2. Virtual Bar Chart This virtual manipulative lets you create a bar graph right in your web browser. You can specify the number of columns and rows, label the items, and view totals or percentages.
  3. Create a simple bar graph
  • Open the spreadsheet to be seen by the entire class, or have individual students open it at their own computers.
  • The spreadsheet will allow the user to enter data and labels for up to 8 items, while dynamically updating the bar graph.
  • Begin by replacing the labels in the table with the words you want.
  • Next replace the data in the table with the values you want.
  • As you wish you can click on and change the "Chart" title, "Data" title, and "Labels" title in the graph.
  • This is a good way to generate a quick graph in class, or have younger children make graphs who are not as comfortable with Excel.
